My name is Trennt Rhea. I have recently earned a Bachelor of Arts in photojournalism at the University of North Texas with a minor in social science. During my time at UNT, I was a photographer with the North Texas Daily and Hatch Visuals. I got my start in photography in high school, where I first learned how to operate a DSLR camera. After high school, I started to take photography seriously and took a photography class at my community college, Dallas College Brookhaven.
I fell in love with journalism while I was a part of the student newspaper, the Brookhaven Courier. I realized the importance of photojournalism and learned about the lesson of "The Decisive Moment" by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Because of this, I want to enter into a career in photojournalism as a freelance photographer and eventually as a staff photographer.
My goals with photography are to create images that make an essential moment live forever. I want my photos to feel authentic through the use of composition, lighting, color and subject matter. Because of this, I love to shoot 35mm and Polaroid film because I believe it helps me keep these goals in mind and focus primarily on composition and my subjects.
